Paulding county residents and law enforcements officials gathered on Main Street in Dallas to celebrate the county’s law enforcement during National Night Out Aug. 2.
The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, the Paulding County Marshal’s Bureau, the Dallas Police Department, the Dallas Marshal’s Department and the Hiram Police Department all interacted with residents during the two hour event.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. Since 1984, millions take part in National Night Out across communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August.
Paulding’s NNO was complete with food trucks, vendors and a bounce house for the children. Kids and families were able to say hello to police officers and even some K-9s. Law enforcement vehicles were parked in front of the Dallas Theatre and along Main Street for residents to learn more about what law enforcement does each day.
