Ryan McNamara scored 5½ minutes into overtime, and the Dallas Rattlers came from behind to beat the Atlanta Blaze 15-14 on Saturday.
The loss snapped Atlanta’s team-record three-game winning streak.
After exchanging the game’s first two goals, the Blaze (3-2) ended the first quarter with a 5-2 lead and continued to hold an advantage, leading 10-6 at halftime and 12-8 after the third quarter.
After Daniel Eipp’s goal early in the final period gave Atlanta a 13-8 lead, Dallas (4-2) began its push, scoring six of the next seven goals, including twice in the final 1½ minutes. The Rattlers’ John Ranagan scored with 56 seconds left to tie the game at 14-all and force overtime.
Tommy Palasek led Atlanta with four goals. Eipp, Matt Gibson, Kevin Rice and John Uppgren each scored twice, while Austin Sims and former Walton High School standout Scott Ratliff each had one goal. Rice also had three assists.
Chris Madalon made 18 saves in the Atlanta net.
McNamara and former Blaze All-Star Randy Staats each had three goals for Dallas, with Jordan MacIntosh, Jack Near and Ty Thompson each scoring twice.
