The Walton girls golf team finished in seventh place in the National High School Golf Association's National Invitational at Pinehurst Golf Resort in North Carolina.
The Walton girls finished in the top 10 of the National High School Golf Association’s National Invitational, which concluded Wednesday at the Pinehurst Golf Resort in North Carolina.
The Lady Raiders shot a team total 37-over par 325 in the final round, finishing seventh overall at 97-over 953 — nine spots higher than in 2021.
Lambert, Georgia’s Class AAAAAAA state champion, won the national title for the second straight year, finishing with a three-day total of 880. Texas’ Reagan High School finished second (892), followed by Ohio’s New Albany (894), Arizona’s Liberty (930), Utah’s Timpview (939) and Oklahoma’s Jenks (950).
Kat Euston led Walton’s final-round scoring with a 79. Annika Gomeyac shot 81, Saanvi Venkatesh had 82 and Tatum Thompson 83.
Gomeyac placed 38th individually, finishing at 16-over 230. Venkatesh and Thompson tied for 64th at 237 and Euston placed 106th at 249.
Not included in Wednesday’s scoring were Olivia Packer and Emily Feste, with respective scores of 92 and 108.
Jennifer Seo, from Hamilton High School in Arizona, won the individual title with a 3-under total of 211 for the week, two shots ahead of Liberty’s Mattison Frick.
